Malian Network of Elected Women for Participatory Democracy (REMAFEDE)
The Malian Network of Elected Women for Participatory Democracy (REMAFEDE) was created in 2009. Its overall objectives are to:
- Develop the training capacities of elected women in civic action and political commitment;
- Educate the population in general, and especially women, in civic and democratic action;
- Promote greater participation of women in political life and support the full exercise of citizenship for all;
- Achieve parity between women and men in Malian democratic bodies;
- Train and support women likely to get involved at different decision-making levels, public and private;
- Foster networking between women from different backgrounds, in order to ensure the anchoring of mixed approaches to social and democratic participation.
