Madame CAMARA Fatimata TRAORE

Secretary to
External relations of the Network of Elected Women and
Policies for Participatory Democracy (REMAFEDE).

She is currently the 1st deputy mayor of the district of Bamako since January 2021. She was previously elected municipal councilor in commune 2 of the District of Bamako between 1997 to 2002 and 2009 to 2017, then District Councilor of Bamako from 2009 to the present day. Madame CAMARA Fatimata TRAORE, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Legal Science from the National School of Administration in Bamako
She has had a life in the community with responsibilities as Secretary
General of the Network of Elected Women of Africa (REFELA), Secretary
Administrative of the International Network of Women and Local Governance /
Metropolis since 2008. Member of several networks including those of the Malian Network
of Elected and Political Women for Participatory Democracy (REMAFEDE)
since 2009, of the CAUCUS of local elected women of Mali of Women
Councillors of Mali (REFCOM), of the Executive Board of the Convergence of Women of
Mali, of the African Forum of Locally Elected Women (FAFEL) and of the Franco
Malian Committee on Migration, from 2006 to 2008.
Before being elected, Mrs. CAMARA Fatimata TRAORE was an employment counselor from
1993-1996, Head of Professional Integration Service in the Promotion Department of
Employment, from 1996-2008, Regional Director of Bamako, from 2008 to January 2017 and
Advisor to the Director General of the ANPE in charge of external relations and
coordination of the Unit d’Etudes Prospectives.
During her career and her experiences, Madame CAMARA Fatimata
TRAORE, is a trainer at the Observatory for the Rights of Women and Children from
1996 to the present day, as well as Program Officer at the Dutch SNV-NGO
in Mali from 1992-1993.
